What a dryer booster fan actually solves in Dallas houses
Bring the dryer's own manual outside. Whirlpool, LG and Samsung all print a maximum equivalent duct length. Then they subtract feet for each elbow and for the hood type. Add up your real run against that table. If you exceed it, no cleaning restores full airflow. That is the only reason to add a fan.
Dallas geometry creates this. Laundry moved off the exterior wall in newer builds around Frisco, Prosper and North Dallas infill. Vents now climb to a roof jack instead of a nearby sidewall. Older Lakewood and Oak Cliff homes rarely have the problem, since the washer sat near an outside wall from the start.
Check the hood first. Many roof jacks and wall caps here carry a spring-loaded damper. That damper alone eats pressure. A louvered cap on a clear straight run usually beats any fan.
Bad candidates exist. Flex duct in a wall cavity, no accessible section, or no power near the duct make this a poor idea. Say so before spending anything. Boosting a crushed line just relocates the clog.
Once installed, the fan wheel loads with lint and the pressure switch sticks. Both need hands on them now and then, same as the duct.

I clean the full run, reconnect the dryer, run a cycle to check airflow at the hood, and vacuum up the lint I pulled. You pay the number I quoted at the door, nothing added at the end.
